Senior Pastor

     Aloha Norfolk! My name is Gabriel Vega and in the photo is my lovely wife of 15+ years Tanya Vega. I’m an active duty Sailor and student at Eternity Bible College. My wife is a homeschooling mom (so she has like 20 jobs). We have two boys Zaylen (16) and Daxen (9) who always keep us on our toes. Before we arrived on the eastern shores of Virginia, we lived island life in Honolulu, HI for six years! During our time in Hawaii, we were able to center our hearts and focus around Jesus who taught us how to love, teach and care for His people, and most importantly share the Good News of the Gospel. When God called us out of Hawaii to the Norfolk area, we quickly fell in love with the people of Spurgeon Church. Becoming members, God revealed the needs to assist His church in different areas, which we gladly and willingly accepted. We’ve served in a variety of ministries ranging from Men’s, Women’s, Sound, Refreshments, Event Coordinator, and Small Group Leaders. At Spurgeon Church, Tanya and I run the Youth ministry where we dig deep in God’s word to grow their relationship with God. Separately, Tanya heads our events as Event Coordinator and I serve as a Deacon.   

Fun Facts: 

• Tanya enjoys reading, sewing, crafting, and sleeping. 

• Gabe enjoys surfing (not that great), blog writing, and watching Special Interest/reality shows IE. Forged in Fire and The Curse of Oak Island.
