Mark Bauer is a graduate of Liberty University with a Masters in Theological Studies and a Bachelor in Criminal Justice. He is happily married with 4 daughters and 2 sons. He loves spending his time with family, playing with their chickens, and enjoying local Norfolk events. With his strong servant heart, we are blessed to have him on the Spurgeon Church team; He also works for the Department of the Navy serving as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) in their Sexual Assault Prevention Response Program. He was awarded Junior Civilian of the Year for Naval Station Norfolk in 2019. He has previously served as a youth pastor, youth director, associate pastor, juvenile probation officer, and an OIF/OEF veteran in the United States Navy.
I’m Grayson Leach and pictured with me is my wife of over 40 years Sandra. I am from Bethesda, Md. but have lived in the Norfolk/Chesapeake area most of my life. We have two daughter’s Jessica and Racheal and two sons-in-law Cory and EV. We have also been blessed by Racheal and EV’s two daughters Adalynn and Madilynn. I worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 37 years and retired in 2013 as the Assistant Division Head for Radiological Controls. I currently work at MHI shipyard certifying that all repair work and testing is done correctly on Navy Ships. I was raised Methodist and attended Norview UMC. We were lucky enough to have a friend who invited us to Azalea Baptist Church where our faith grew. I have been a Deacon, Associate Pastor, Worship Pastor, Church Planter and Special needs Pastor and advisor for Special Needs Ministry to the VBMB. I was fortunate to help found and start a Special Needs Ministry that is still going at 4 different local churches. I am an Ordained Minister and was ordained by The Bridge Network of Churches and Azalea Baptist Church. I never finished seminary but took courses thru John Leland Center for Theological Studies. I love worship in music and look forward to what God has in store for us at Spurgeon. Please know that I was asked to list things about myself. The main thing that drew me to Spurgeon is talking to Pastor Mark and when I asked him who was the church’s targeted group. He responded to bring the lost to Jesus Christ. That has been on my heart. You will always hear honesty sometimes even when it’s hard from me. I look forward to visiting each of you and getting to know you. I love kids and adults, and the elderly (That’s everyone).
Ana has lived in Hampton Roads since 2003 and is proud to call Norfolk her home. She is grateful to be able to use her God given talents to serve Him in the local church. She enjoys spending her free time going to the beach, riding bikes, reading and gardening. Fun fact: Ana and her husband Eddie took third place in a national pool tournament in Las Vegas playing scotch doubles.
